Terralta has long specialized in solar and geothermal energy, and our passion for clean energy spills over into our expanded services. When you work with us, we’ll plan for optimum efficiency in your HVAC systems, plumbing, and electricity, as well. If you’re building a home or doing renovations in Medicine Hat or the surrounding area, we encourage you to consider a company that combines services for optimal communication, productivity, and energy efficiency.
Providing Solar Energy for 15 Years
Terralta has been involved in the renewable energy sector in Medicine Hat for a long time. Over the years, we’ve developed relationships with clients and community members through quality service in solar, geothermal, electrical, plumbing, and gas fitting services.
Our goal is to provide environmentally responsible options in an economically feasible way. We focus on relationships first, followed by solution-based projects.
In 2020, we saw an opportunity to expand our operations and purchased Air-Tech Ltd. We now offer HVAC, refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, kitchen equipment supply, and preventative maintenance services as well.
More Than Solar: HVAC, Plumbing, & Electrical
We’re pleased to offer the convenience of expanded services for our customers in Medicine Hat and surrounding areas.
Our experienced team has grown to include Travis Jassman, a red seal HVAC. Dan Heaton is our plumbing lead—a journeyman plumber and gas fitter with 13 years of experience. Dean Kopperud remains part of our leadership team as our Master Electrician.
Together, they take care of all the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical needs for new home builds and renovations, like this southern Alberta home we renovated recently. The home is an older property on the river’s edge, close to downtown Medicine Hat. It has a beautiful view of the river.
The home was originally a fourplex and through renovations, we converted it into one space. To do this, the space was stripped down bare to the studs and we came in and started fresh; although it was a renovation, it felt more like a new build.
We installed everything from in-floor heating in the garage, to a new boiler, a new furnace, air conditioning, plumbing fixtures, and all electrical components.
Energy-Efficient Practices in the Medicine Hat Home Reno
As a company that promotes renewable energy, we incorporate energy-efficient practices wherever possible. Everything we installed in the home had efficiency in mind.
For example, we installed air-to-heat pumps, which are excellent for balancing temperatures in the shoulder seasons. There is an increased demand for air-to-heat pumps and we can understand why; their ability to heat and cool makes them economical and efficient HVAC systems. They run off electricity and add heat in the shoulder seasons, then serve as air conditioners when the weather calls for it.
As for electrical components, there are many opportunities for energy efficiency, like panel swap outs and lighting retrofits (yes, we’re talking about LED bulbs). There are less opportunities when it comes to plumbing, but we make sure all our supplies are energy-efficient whenever possible.
Another common component is heat recovery ventilators. They allow homes to be more airtight and therefore more energy-efficient. Without heat recovery ventilators, an airtight home will develop pollutants and stale air. Conversely, homes that are less airtight will lose heat in winter and cool air in summer, increasing their energy bill. Heat recovery ventilators reduce energy consumption, save money, and reduce carbon footprints.
We also specialize in Geothermal Energy Systems, which are primarily used for heating and cooling in residential homes. Our team focuses on the integration of various renewable and conventional technologies. We’d love to talk about the opportunities in your home.
Combine Services for Renovations and New Home Builds
One thing that separates Terralta from competitors is our communication strategies. We’re proud to be a fully transparent and flexible company that’s able to adapt to changes in renovations with a flexible management and installation team. In fact, we encourage our installation team to communicate with our clie nts, as well. They have important insights when it comes to fully utilizing the systems we install.
The nice thing about combining solar installations with electrical, HVAC, or plumbing is that the homeowner doesn’t have to deal with multiple contractors to meet their renovation goals. It reduces confusion, eliminates errors, and improves productivity.
If you’re considering renovations or building a new home, it’s worth your time to consider all your alternatives. Although we’ve made a name for ourselves in geothermal and solar energy, we’re confident that our reputation for excellent service extends into our expanded offerings, as well.
